The fault lies in us

Failure to learn a lesson from the environment is not the fault of the environment, the fault lies in us, but.......we blame the environment and call ourselves the victim!

We are sailing amidst a sea of lessons and examples in our daily journey of life and yet we learn nothing.  We are in a way living a life so detached with the surrounding and maybe we pretend to see and hear nothing.

We move about ignorantly in our day to day life and take no lessons from other people's mistake but patiently wait to make those very mistakes and then repent?  Turning blind and deaf is making us lose our track and causing an irreparable dent in our life.

Blaming the environment for our own mistakes, inability and shortcomings is in itself a defect.  When we fail to learn, we learn to fail.  Instead of overcoming our mistakes we further make mistakes of shelving it on others.

Hey, everyone makes mistakes.  Let us take that first step and learn how not to make mistakes.  Learn from other's mistakes and try not to repeat it.  If someone has put their hand in fire and got burnt, the consequence will not be different for anyone.  We cannot blame the fire for being there.  Can we?

Who says!!

Who says, who says.................

that we should give up if one person says so,
(Believe in yourself not on what others say)

that tears are for sorrow only
(There are tears of joy too!)

that it is now or never
(There is always a later time, a better time).

hardship is  a punishment
(It is a test/challenge for good and capable students.  Good students are never punished).

that life is all about not-so-good people
(Good people are still existing!)

No matter who says what, there is always a better option, a positive approach and a hidden meaning to every situation in life.

What matters is, "What you think!"

Sneaky Happiness

Today I want to share with you a quote that my sweet nephew shared with me :

"Happiness often sneaks in from a door you didn't know you left open" - John Barrymore.

He really made my day.  Just the words I wanted to hear.  Now this has put me in an amazing mood and I feel so much love and happiness in the air, everywhere.

Yes we often do not realize what and who can be the source of happiness.  We come across so many people in our life, visit so many places, say so many things and do all sorts of deeds, least realizing what may spark up and bring a glow of happiness.

I learnt a lesson today, an important sweet lesson.  Do good, say good, hear good and think good and open doors, many many doors of happiness for yourself and for others too. You may not remember your words or deeds but it may turn out to be the key to your unexpected happiness.

WOW! I feel new energy and enthusiasm in myself.  Thanks dear nephew, Amby, for sharing this with me.

I wish you all unexpected happiness and thanks for bringing me joy!!!

Mother's Day

There is love in the air because it is Mother's day.
Mothers are so special and no matter what shape and size they come in they are so unique and so precious.  Social media has made them even more special and loving.

No matter how our behavior may be in real life, we can always put up a great show and it is nice to know how much we care for our mothers.  Or are we trying to say that how much we should care and how we are running behind what we actually display on social media or are we trying to repent publicly for our behavior towards our mother?

Mothers are special and will remain special even if we do not put it on display.  Mothers are special throughout the year, for all 365 days of the year, not just for one day.

Because of social media, some of us have just discovered the attributes and great qualities of our mother which we failed to realize in their lifetime.  So sad!  Well, all I can say is, 'better late than never !"

Message : Celebrate your mother everyday and every moment.  They deserve much more than that and you better do it while they are still around instead of waiting for their departure.

My salute to all the mothers of the world!!

Facebook or Cookbook

While I browse through facebook I often get hungry!  So much so, I feel starved. I also get confused.  Is this facebook or cookbook?  All that I see are food and more food.  Yum, Yum!!

It is amazing to see the front page so full of pictures of breakfast, lunch, dinner, meal, snack, beverages etc. that I can almost smell the food.

There are details, mind you, every single detail about who ate what for breakfast, what and where they are planning to have lunch, and how and what are the plans for dinner.  If someone has had hamburger, there will be pictures of ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper and the drink, not to forget the fancy napkin that was used.

Okay here is the description for a cup of tea......a kettle of water, tea bags, sugar and the kind of milk used.

Even more interesting!  If the meal was at the fancy restaurant here is what it looks like......a picture at the entrance of the restaurant displaying the name of the restaurant.  WOW!

So detail oriented and so organized.  We want the whole world to know what we eat, how we eat, where we eat and how much we eat.  It gives us so much pleasure and a great sense of achievement, otherwise why would we like to advertise our meal.

Hence I often wonder, should it be called facebook or cookbook.

Victory and Defeat

Some defeat is the beginning of victory while some victory is the start of defeat.

We often get so carried away with a tiny trace of victory and start thinking that the world belongs to us.  The world has never belonged to any one single individual and never will.  What we may be assuming as a win can be the spark of loss.  Smoke is sometimes the beginning of fire and sometimes the end of fire.

We also give up hope due to a little disappointment.  Haven't you heard that every cloud has a silver lining?  Dark clouds does not just mean storm and gloom.  It also means rain and relief.

We never know what may lead to what.  It is better to just remain focused and wait and watch.  Stay balanced and do not get carried away in either situations.

We fall to rise and rise to fall. We cannot rise without falling and may fall when we rise.  Victory and defeat thrives simultaneously.

Are we reaching OUT?

We want to stay so confined, just me and my family!  It is all about my happiness, my spouse, my children, my house, my car and of course ME.

That is good to some extent.  Love and care for your family.  But we should not forget that just like the way others need us, we need them too.

Have you heard, "The more, the merrier?" Certainly not, otherwise we would not lead such a confined life where no one matters but my children, my spouse and myself. That's it!

We have to reach out of this boundary.  We got to understand celebration needs more people than family.  We cannot grow flowers and trees inside our house nor can we bring the sky and the ornaments in the sky to our living room. We need to venture out and let in fresh air and sunshine into our house.

Those who think that life is all about me and my family is living a deprived life.  They are shutting out all the good elements of life and surviving in darkness and stale air.

There is a bigger meaning to life such as neighborhood and community and also kith and kin.  They can add to our happiness and take subtract our sorrow and we can do the same for them.

Let us team up and live as one big family and incidentally teach our family to give and share and live and love.
